We can't believe that a month has already flown by. It seems like just yesterday we were at the hospital in labor. We can't get over how much he has already grown (9 pounds 10 ounces!) and changed. He has started to get more of a personality and we can already tell that he is going to be a handful when he gets older! We have finally gotten a handle on the explosive diapers and breastfeeding, now if we can just get him to sleep more at night and less during the day!

Our first family outing!
After being locked up in the apartment for two and a half weeks, we decided it was finally time to introduce Shane to Starbucks and the Foster City dock. It was a short excursion, but a well needed one because I was having a severe case of cabin fever. Shane really enjoyed the fresh air and Vegas, as always, loved scaring off the ducks.

Shane has arrived

Shane has finally decided to introduce himself to the world. He was born on January 30th at exactly 10:00 am, after 13 hours of labor. The labor and delivery went well, I was able to hold off on the epidural until I was almost 8 cm dilated, it was pretty painful at that point, and I wish I wouldn't have been so stubborn and gotten the epidural before they broke my water (next time I will remember this). I only had to push for 50 minutes and I was so excited at that point that I kept asking the doctor and nurse when I could push again! He was such a beautiful newborn, and we fell in love with him instantly. When they put him on my chest he stretched really hard, poor kid was cramped inside for so long! He was 8 pounds exactly and 20 and 3/4 inches long ( with a cone head). We are so excited to continue to watch him grow and to see where life will lead him.
