Busy, Busy, Busy!

I am so sorry that I haven't updated our blog in such a long time. I have been back at work for a little over 3 weeks, and things have just been crazy. Our calendar is packed and we are hoping one day soon we will have some time to just relax. Shane is getting really big, he has his 6 month appointment on Monday. He is able to sit independently, and is eating fruits and veggies now! It is so much fun to watch him grow. We are having a blast being parents. This last week Shane got to hang out with his Grandma Chris and Great Grandma on Friday and Saturday and Uncle Dan, Auntie Wendie and Cousin Kendal on Sunday and Monday. He sure had a lot of fun. On Monday we took him to his first Giants game. Thanks Dan for taking us the the game! Shane was so well behaved and had a blast. We also discovered that he is a big flirt! The entire time he was smiling and talking to the college girls sitting behind us. He was a big hit!

We've been busy

Hi Everyone! I can't believe that it has been so long since I have updated our blog....we have just been so busy. Shane is now 4.5 months old...and he is huge! At his last doctor appointment he weighed 17 pounds and 5 ounces. I think he is probably closer to 18 pounds now that he has starting eating rice cereal...which he absolutely loves. He can't get enough of it and even resorts to sucking it all off of his bib and fingers! Shane has also become quite the wiggle worm and is reaching and touching everything! His two bottom teeth have started to slowly make their debut in the last few days....he is loving chomping on the frozen washcloths. Davin and I are still completely amazed by everything that Shane does. We have also moved to a bigger apartment....we absolutely love it! (Thanks Steve and Mom and Dad for all of your help....we really appreciate it!) We are still in the process of cleaning out the old apartment...we have to be done by tomorrow! So this weekend is going to be a busy one. We are hoping to be done early tomorrow so we can go for a nice picnic and hike for Father's Day. Next week we are heading up to Redding once again....My Dad is retiring from the Sheriff's Department and we are really excited for him. It should be a lot of fun....however, we are not looking forward to the heat. Well, I only have 2.5 weeks until I go back to work....I hope that I remember how to be a nurse now that I have been out of practice for 6 months! It will be nice to see all of my co-workers again....but I still don't know how I am going to cope with leaving Shane. I know it is going to be hard. I will write again soon. We hope everyone is doing well.

3 Months old

Wow, I can't believe how long it has been since I have updated our blog. There hasn't been anything really exciting to write about. Shane is getting bigger everyday...he is about 16 pounds and 25.5 inches long. I still can't get over that three months have gone by since he was born...I really wish time would slow down. I have to go back to work in 2 months...I am really dreading leaving Shane, it is going to be so hard. I try not to think about it too much because it just makes me sad and anxious. I am just taking it day by day and enjoying every minute that I get to spend with him.
Davin is still working on the big job hunt. We are hoping that we are able to stay in Foster City and not have to relocate or move out of state. We are just going to have to wait and see how things play out. Davin has been running every day (sometimes twice a day). He just celebrated his 26th birthday last Saturday...we didn't do anything exciting because Davin has been on a night schedule. I made him a birthday apple pie and enchiladas....what a combination!
Let's see, Shane has a lot of new tricks! He has been able to support his head very well for the last few weeks. We bought him a jumparoo which he absolutely loves and gets so excited when he's jumping around and playing with all of toys on it...he is such a joy to watch. It was a great investment, because now I can do chores while he is in it because he is very entertained by it. He has also discovered that his hands taste very yummy and he tries to stick them both in his mouth at the same time! Shane is also drooling like no other...very messy! This last week he learned how to blow bubbles with his spit! He is just so cute. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful son.
I only have a few pictures of him, because our camera battery charger is at Davin's parents house. Hopefully, we will be heading up there in the next few weeks to get it, because I am missing out on some really great pictures. I did go and buy a disposable camera to use until then...let me tell you that it is just strange to take a picture and not be able to see instantaneously.
We hope everyone is doing well.

Easter

Well Shane celebrated his first Easter! We spent the afternoon visiting with Grandma and Uncle Steve, and then went to Great Grandma's house for a yummy dinner with Uncle Mike, Auntie Jen, RJ and Zach. It was so much fun. Shane really enjoyed seeing his cousins, who were very facinated by him. Davin drew superheroes for RJ and Zach, which they thought were really cool (RJ more than Zach)! We ended the evening by driving Steve to the airport :*( It was sad, but he will be back for good on May 17th! We can't wait.

He is a Big Boy!

Well, Shane had his two month appointment on Tuesday. He has gained 3 pounds and 3 ounces in one month! He now weighs 12 pounds and 13 ounces, which puts him in the 90th percentile for height and weight! He is going to be a big boy. He also got his immunizations...four shots and an oral vaccination. He did not like any of them, and I can't blame him. The look on his face just broke our hearts, and to think he gets them again in another two months. Yikes!

We are really excited because Steve comes back from Spain tomorrow! We can't wait. We get to pick him up at the airport at 6 pm. We just really want today to go by fast. Tomorrow my mom is coming down to pick up Steve, we're going to hang out in Burlingame and walk around with Shane. It should be fun, and make the time go by faster until we go to the airport.

We're going to head up to Redding again this weekend so that we can spend some time with Uncle Steve. Can't wait. We're hoping it will be nice and warm so that we can take some pictures outside!

Almost Two Months Old!

We can't believe it...Shane is almost two months old! He has grown so much. Just thought we would add a few more pictures of him...look at those chunky thighs! He is such a happy baby, smiling all the time and is really talkative. We are sure having lots of fun with our little man.

Back home

Wow, I haven't updated our blog in quite some time. Nothing much has happened since the last entry. We got back to Foster City from Shingletown about a week ago. It was such a relaxing trip. I don't think I have been up there for that long since before I we got married. It was nice to see everyone and hang out. Shane sure enjoyed the visit, especially since he got so much attention. He is really starting to "talk" a lot more now. He is cooing all of the time and is extra smily. He notices his toys now and talks to them and tries to hit them with his hands. It is so fun to watch him. I just can't get over how fast he is growing and changing. He is constantly amazing me. The other day he started to giggle, but only for Davin. I have tried everything to get him to do it for me, but fail each time. Oh well, I guess I will just have to wait for my turn.
We bought Shane a rainforest mobile for his crib. He is absolutely mesmorized by it. He lays there and kicks his legs with excitement and talks to the animals. It is hilarious. Who ever new a mobile could be so entertaining? I love it too, because it allows me time to do some chores!
We sent out Shane's birth announcements this week. Finally! Thanks grandma and mom for helping with the photo shoot. It sure was fun! Here are a few new pictures. Enjoy.
